Confronting Medical Challenges and Achieving Wellness

We know how difficult it is to improve your health when you are struggling against very real medical challenges. Medical challenges can be physically debilitating and mentally exhausting. However, we believe that no medical issue should stop you from taking positive steps toward improving your health.

During each weight loss retreat we conduct, we work with individuals who face a host of medical challenges and we watch firsthand how the changes they implement can improve or reverse health issues they have struggled with for years.

We don’t believe in “lose weight fast” catch-alls, fad diets or extreme exercise. However, we do believe that full immersion in a program dedicated to improving your health can help you shake old self-defeating health patterns and replace them with lasting lifestyle changes that can have a measurable impact on your health and wellbeing. Here’s how we can help.

Common Health Concerns

At our wellness retreats, we aim to make changes that tackle common health concerns. Through our thoughtful process, we have seen our guests make major strides in improving their health for treatable conditions such as:

  • High cholesterol
  • Diabetes
  • Muscle aches
  • Poor posture
  • Heart disease
  • Menopause or post-menopause symptoms
  • Problems caused by stress
  • Poor diet
  • Chronic pain

Reveal the Underlying Causes

Many of the above issues can be treated and controlled with medication. However, we believe treating individual symptoms or specific issues addresses only a portion of the problem. We advise conducting a complete series of tests including medical evaluations, like blood panels and fitness tests that measure strength, posture, balance, and flexibility. This provides an overall in-depth snapshot of your health and will act as a starting point to chart your individual course toward wellness.

Customized Wellness Plan

Using the information from your tests and questionnaires, we emphasize customizing a wellness plan that fuses fitness, diet, and emotional wellbeing to address your unique lifestyle and health concerns.  By developing a holistic plan just for you, we can help you zero in on the specific goals and outcomes you seek.

The Role of Mental Health

Your mind and body are closely related. Treating one without tackling the other can decrease your chance of improving your health. During our wellness retreats, we assign a behavioral health therapist to you to address the underlying mental challenges that can impact your wellbeing. We share stress-management techniques, teach life balance and practical mind-body integration tools to help you build a better quality of life.

Ongoing Treatment

True wellness is an ongoing balancing act that you must be able to maintain back at home, after you have left your wellness retreat. Instead of isolating your progress to your time spent at a holistic spa, we can work with your primary care doctor to tackle your medical challenges in an ongoing fashion. The tools and resources you acquire during your retreat will help you make major changes to your diet and adopt effective mental and physical health patterns. As a result, under your doctor’s supervision, you might be able to reduce or eliminate certain medications or treatments.

In our long experience crafting wellness plans for hundreds of unique individuals with varying medical challenges, we know that even one week at a holistic spa can improve your health. If you have questions about your health challenges and would like to discuss how VeraVia can help you make
